My small resale page mostly contains clothes inherited from relatives. I labeled a blouse as rust, but a buyer's device displayed something closer to berry. Nothing serious happened, yet the inconsistency bothered me as a seller. Expensive photography tools do not fit the scale of my casual resale page. I currently use indirect window light, a grey card, and one fixed phone profile. The fixed setup helps with repeatability, and I still struggle to describe whether a shade leans warm, cool, or neutral. I used this soft winter color palette page to build a small vocabulary list. I treat palette labels as comparison terms rather than personal recommendations. For each listing, I now plan to mention the basic hue and one cautious undertone note. I will also keep the grey card visible in one unedited reference photograph. It should communicate useful detail without pretending the camera is perfectly objective. Is there a practical reference-card routine that buyers actually find useful? I would particularly like advice on wording borderline shades such as burgundy, plum, and rust.
