A calmer way to compare your seasonal color options

I set aside a quiet afternoon looking through the deeper shades I already own. My quick conclusion was that Deep Winter was the obvious answer for me. However, charcoal often looks polished but true black tops can make my face appear tired. I tried looking at my usual navy, gray, plum, and espresso pieces in daylight. Those quick photographs made me realize that one palette name may be too simple. I also bookmarked this color analysis because the structure kept my notes more organized. Now I am leaning toward deep navy and cool plum before adding more stark black pieces. I would love to hear how others have used daylight comparisons to separate two nearby seasonal palettes? I am deliberately leaving bright lipstick, dramatic jewelry, and online quizzes out of this first comparison. Those may be useful later, but right now I only need a repeatable view of familiar clothing in ordinary daylight. A few careful notes feel more useful than a dramatic makeover or a rushed decision about every future purchase.
